NC Department Of Military And Veterans Affairs To Host Third Biennial Women MilVets Summit & Expo

Raleigh, N.C. – The North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) will hold its biennial North Carolina Women MilVets Summit and Expo on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh, NC. This is the third year of the event which builds upon the success of the inaugural Women Veterans Summit and Expo held in 2014.
The theme for this year is “Empower, Educate and Enrich – I Served. My Voice Matters.” The event is sponsored in partnership with NC VetBiz and Dress for Success Triangle NC.
NC VetBiz, a state-wide association of veteran business owners, has been a long serving partner of this event. Annette Stevenson, vice-president of NC VetBiz stated “The purpose of this summit is to educate and empower our women veterans so that they have access to every resource available to them.” Diana Graham, Veteran Coordinator, of Dress For Success Triangle NC asserted “This event is another great opportunity to continue building the community of support for our female veterans. Acknowledging that they are more than a uniform and we are in position to assist them with transition.”
Women veterans from across the state are invited to participate in this informative and inspiring experience. Throughout the day there will be dynamic speakers including Kayla Williams, Director of the VA Center for Women Veterans, educational workshops, as well as vendor exhibits and great networking.
